Have you had it up to here ::holds hand way above head:: with winter?
We can’t make the dreary, cold weather go away, but we do have a warm, cozy, delicious suggestion for beating the winter blahs:
Join Des Moines Slow Food on Sunday, February 28 for our annual Soup Potluck!
Like to take a walk in the woods? We’ll meet at 3 pm at the lodge in the Walnut Woods State Park (pictured below) for a family-friendly trek led by Hike It Baby. Dress warmly — hike happens rain (or snow) or shine!
Soup-er heroes. We’ll gather at the Walnut Woods Lodge 4 – 6 pm for our soup potluck. Make a batch of your family and friends’ favorite soup, stew, or bisque; and taste other cooks’ best soup efforts, too. Not a big soup-chef? We’d love to taste your signature bread, side dish, or dessert recipe, too.
- Your own plates, soup bowls and eating / serving utensils
- BYOB adult beverages (no hard liquor please, beer/wine ok)
- A pot of soup, a side dish, or a dessert to share*
We’ll bring the tables, chairs, and non-alcoholic beverages for all.
